My interest in the Arthurian Legend brought me to read The Once and Future King, by T.H. White many years ago. It was with that book in mind that I set out to design this pen. I wanted to create a bold outer appearance while drawing one's final attention to Arthur receiving Excalibur from The Lady of the Lake.
This pen is built primarily from DiamondCast resin material in black and gold. The four major bands and crown are constructed in bronze with nickel "armor rivets" (of which there are thirty-two in total).The finial medallions are domed mokume gane with nickel shot, and the hand-and-sword rollstop is constructed of bronze and nickel. The pen is built around 13mm cap threads and a Jowo #6 nib. Overall length closed is 160mm. open length is 144mm, and the total weight is 40 grams.
