“Kiernan” is a pre-Christian Celtic god of the forest.  He symbolized the young adult male – strong, virile, and even a bit wild.  He is always portrayed with stag antlers, and commonly shown in the forest hidden among trees, beautiful and somewhat elusive.

We have represented Kiernan in nickel and bronze, antlered and standing in a hardwood grove.  The pen is built around “Elvenwood” resin material by Jonathon Brooks (@carolinapenco) – satin finish behind the cap sleeve, polished otherwise throughout.  The cap, body, and section feature bronze rings framing wider bands of North American Whitetail antler, all hand turned.  Finally, the body has been constructed from Wych Elm, also known as Scots Elm.  The wood was harvested and milled by Alec Mutch in Lochbroom on the western coast of Scotland from whence the Kiernan legends originate.  The wood was then stabilized by our friend Jason Olson, (@Writeturnz), so that it could be sleeved with resin for the sake of stability.  We wish to thank both Alec and Jason for their help in bringing this project to completion.

The pen has been built on 13mm cap threads and Jowo #6 nib. Overall length = 150mm, open length = 139mm, weight = 35g.  Shown and priced with gold plated steel nib.  Upgrades available on request via website contact.
